The play which serves as a basis for Trembling has been inspired by the love story of Anton Pavlovich Chekhov and the famous actress Olga Leonardovna Knipper and the correspondence between them. This is a feminine, highly aestheticized performance, minimalistic in terms of expression and selection of directorial, stage and acting means. The text deals with a broad topic, which touches upon the Russian and world theater, sending a universal message, comprehensible regardless of the barriers. The performance is unique and is based on two types of narratives, the first being the one typically seen on stage, and the other is storytelling through choreography, with little talking, but with a lot of movement and body language, used for depicting the most dramatic events. In short, through analysis of Chekhov's life, Trembling tells one of the most beautiful feminine documentary stories of the world of theater, giving the audience the chance to witness a number of unknown events of the life of Chekhov and his time.
