BLUE MONDAY - THE COST OF GROWING UP

Blue Monday is a theatre production about the step into adulthood of three young women and their confrontation with the brutality of the adult world. Through their friendship, the story opens questions of class, social, and systemic barriers that shape youth and force them into different strategies of survival. It is a story about growing up, the loss of shared illusions, and the clash between personal desires and reality. This theatrical work is the result of a collective effort and directly addresses themes and issues important to young people, resonating with what young audiences want to see on stage. The project is the result of a multi-year research process within the project “TRY – Theatre Reconnecting with Youth,” which focuses on the question: “What is money, and how does it influence the way we perceive ourselves, others, society, and the planet we live in?” It is a co-production between Peripetija Production and the Macedonian National Theatre, in collaboration with the acting studio “Prva Proba.”
